The main objective of the Brown Clee Medical Practice patient group for 2017, is to engage a wider cross section of patients, to provide information about current issues, and to encourage dialogue and mutual understanding.
We are very pleased to say that 266 patients joined the Brown Clee Medical Practice – patient page on Facebook during 2016. We still want to try and achieve at least 300 members (which will be about 10% of patients) by April 2017, and if any patients want help in setting up a facebook account, group members are happy to help them.
We are incredibly happy with the facebook page, which has given us a communication channel to a more diverse range of patients. At the moment the group membership is 61% Female, of which 38% are under 50 years of age and 23% aged over 50 and 39% Male, of which 28% are under 50 years of age and 11% over 50
The page is used to disseminate information that has been discussed at the open meetings, and other medical related matters that are in the local and national news - for example , the current debates around Urgent Care provision in Shropshire.
Clinicians may also suggest links to appropriate health information topics, for example if they are seeing a number of cases of a particular problem – this information may help patients avoid becoming ill, or know what to do if they do have such a problem.
There are 4 public meetings a year held at the Cleobury North Village hall from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm and the dates for 2017 are:
Monday 6th February, Monday 10th April, Monday 19th June and Monday 2nd October.
A GP Partner always attends these meetings and they provide an opportunity to ask general questions and discuss matters affecting health provision .
We hope that you will join the Facebook group, or if this is not appropriate for you, perhaps you will come to an Open Meeting.

With very best wishes
