GP Extended Opening Hours Clinics

We would like all patients in our community to be able to see a local GP or Nurse when they need to. We have set up a network of GP Practices across the region offering extended opening hours for pre-bookable and same day routine extended access appointments.  The GP extended opening hours service operates between 6.00pm-8.00pm on weekdays and 9.00am- 1.00pm on weekends and allows patients to be seen within a network of GP Practices at a convenient time and location, depending on availability, The service is forecast to continue until 30th September 2018.

This practice currently offers the facility for all patients to order online, view and print a list of theirrepeat prescriptions for drugs, medicines or appliances.

Travel Vaccinationsglobal air travel

We can offer a full range of foreign travel immunisations but NOT Yellow Fever. You may well need time to have a course, so try to come about eight weeks in advance. The practice Nurse can give up-to-date advice but we request all travellers obtain an up to date advice letter from Masta. This is a telephone advice service run by the School of Tropical Medicine – which always has the most up to date travel information available.

Ask for our Masta leaflet at reception for more details about travel immunisations. A charge is payable for some travel immunisations. The MASTA Travellers Healthline phone number is 0906 5501402

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below

Europe Europe & Russia North America North America
Central America Central America South America South America
Caribbean Caribbean Africa Africa
Middle East Middle East Central Asia Central Asia
East Asia East Asia Australasia Australasia and Pacific

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
